

I've been reading this card is plagued with similar issues. I played around switching back and forth between auto and a specific setting to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and auto was always testing slow for some reason. Your friend will have to select a wireless mode based on how his router is setup. When I chose a specific setting (802.11a/n/ac) my connection speed went from 1-3 mbps to 40+ mbps (which is fast for my internet plan out here in the middle of nowhere).
